He began his nursing career at a Level One Trauma Center working in orthopedic trauma becoming certified in Medical Surgical Nursing. Shortly after he transitioned to critical care services working in Intensive Care. Next, Marion Curtis became certified in Critical Care. After 9 years of nursing experience he has come to find his passion in the mental health field. Marion graduated from Georgia College &amp; State University in 2018 with his Masters in Nursing with a concentration in Mental Health. Marion’s combination of clinical education and experience provide a strong foundation for meeting the complex needs of mental health patients and he is considered to be an asset to the mental health community and his peers. He believes in building a trusting relationship with patients and family members. He seeks to acquire a comprehensive mental health evaluation of every patient by taking the time to listen to patients and help them achieve their particular needs and goals. He strives to provide holistic care where he see each patient as a whole person that includes the mind, body, and spirit and ensure care for all parts of a patient. In his spare time Marion enjoys participating in community outreach programs focusing on at risk youth and spending time with family. Marion is very excited to be apart of Curtis Behavioral Health serving patients.</image:caption>

She was raised by two psychiatric RNs, her supportive loving parents. She attended Alabama State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med/Biology. She pursued her medical education abroad at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, W.I. and was accepted into dual Internal Medicine/Psychiatry program at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. Eventually, she shifted her focus to General Psychiatry and completed her training at Kansas University Medical Center Program in 2015. After residency, she returned to Michigan to practice in corrections and moved to the Atlanta, GA area in 2016 where she has extended family, friends, and numerous ASU alumni. Since coming to Georgia she explored many practice settings in adult psychiatry as a locums psychiatrist to find the perfect fit including corrections, crisis center, outpatient, detox, dual/diagnosis, and inpatient settings. Dr. Wright’s professional interests include: teaching/supervision, severe and persistent mental illness, depression, dual diagnosis, ADHD/ADD, TBI, trauma, complex med-psych cases, and geriatrics. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, stand-up comedy, streaming TV, and spending time with her significant other and two Jack Russell terriers.</image:caption>
